Background

Lauren is a lifelong Mississippian and has lived in DeSoto County her entire life. After graduating from DeSoto Central High School, she pursued her calling in nursing and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis in 2012, graduating cum laude.

She began her career in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, where she cared for critically ill patients, many recovering from open-heart surgery. She served there for six and a half years before returning to school to advance her training. In 2018, Lauren earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Arkansas State University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and receiving the Top Nurse Practitioner Academic Scholar Award for her class.

Lauren brings more than 10 years of nursing experience and 4 years in primary care to Bagwell Medical Clinic. She is passionate about providing evidence-based care, empowering patients through education, and supporting them as they take charge of their health. She is skilled in both acute and chronic care and especially values the long-term relationships she is able to build with patients in primary care. She is also an active member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners, staying engaged with colleagues and continuing medical education.

Lauren lives in DeSoto County with her husband, Spence, and their son. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, playing tennis, and traveling. She is also an active member of CrossRoads Church in Hernando, where she enjoys singing on the worship team.
