Background
Dr. Brian Bagwell is a native of Pearl, Mississippi, and is happily married with three daughters—two who previously attended Northpoint Christian School in Southaven and one who currently attends there. His journey into medicine has been shaped by faith, service, and a lifelong desire to care for others.
Dr. Bagwell became a Christian in the ninth grade and sensed a calling to serve. Believing that calling would first lead him into ministry, he served as a Youth Pastor at White Oak Assembly of God Church before completing his undergraduate degree at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri.

During that time, his sense of calling shifted toward caring for people through healthcare. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and then attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences for medical school. He completed his Family Medicine residency at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, where he was honored to serve as Chief Resident.
Following residency, Dr. Bagwell practiced for six years at North Mississippi Medical Center’s rural hospital in Iuka, Mississippi. There, he served as Chief of Staff, Director of the Emergency Department, and helped grow the clinic from two to five providers. His work earned national recognition from NCQA for excellence in diabetes management, along with top awards in the NMMC system for outstanding care in diabetes and congestive heart failure.

In 2013, he joined Family Medical Clinic of North Mississippi in Southaven, where he continued to grow his leadership and clinical expertise. Feeling called to return to a model of care centered on service and personal connection, he founded Bagwell Medical Clinic in September 2017. Over time, he expanded access to specialty care in the region and ultimately opened two clinic locations in Hernando to better serve DeSoto County.
Today, Bagwell Medical Clinic proudly offers comprehensive family medicine through a growing team of dedicated providers.

Dr. Bagwell has a special passion for:
-
Type 2 diabetes management
-
Prevention and treatment of heart disease and stroke, hypertension, and cholesterol disorders.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, cycling, hunting, and competitive/defensive shooting. He is an active member of CrossRoads Church in Hernando.

Above all, Dr. Bagwell is committed to compassionate, Christ-centered service. He considers it a privilege to care for patients and their families. If he or anyone on our team can assist you, please call us at 662-560-5966.
